Success cannot be measured by our social economic status or the highest level of position of a person in a company/government. Contentment, being happy in what we do regardless of salary, and doing something that is honorable and beneficial to other people is what makes us successful.. and SUCCESS leads to GREATNESS!

Iluminado L. Capinpin, my 90 year old grandfather always tell us (his grandchildren) that we don’t need to have a position in the government to be able to help in our community. He instilled the value of GENEROSITY, COMPASSION, and LOVE for the poor in me. I personally think, that alone is, GREATNESS.
I am not saying that we are rich. The truth is, we are just average people, desiring to help in changing the world.

I can say that my grandfather has achieved a lot. He owned lots of properties because of his hardwork and perseverance, and later on divided it and gave to His children. He strived hard to be able to send all his children to college, despite anything. I can attest to that because at the age of 85, he gives me “baon” weekly. For him, GIVING UP IS NEVER AN OPTION. He was scrutinized, criticized, and been pulled down by negative people. He went through the UPS and DOWNS of life. In short, he’s been misjudged. But, he was never discouraged. He continued living, knowing that good things happen to people who work hard without putting other people down.
My grandpa taught me to DREAM BIG, because he himself is a dreamer. When I was a kid, he always tell me that he wants to go AROUND THE WORLD. He also had this huge desire of saving lots of money so he could build a RESORT in his farm. The “RESORT” dream would still be a long way, but his AMERICAN DREAM already happened last April 2011.

I grew up seeing all his “Plaque of Appreciations”, and that really makes me proud to be his granddaughter.

Above are the examples of all his achievements. He is one of the recipients of “Emancipation Law” by Former President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. and he was also awarded the “Pinaka-79 BIGGEST ROOSTER 1st Prize”, which is also a project of Pres. Marcos.

Eufrocinia Capinpin-Cruz.
I started it with my grandfather, and the same thing goes with my Mom.
I am not yet a mother and I don’t know how it feels to be a mom. But I can say that despite of our average economic status, she is the BEST MOM ever! She is my grandfather’s daughter. And I believe, in some ways, GREATNESS comes from the genes. :)
My Mom is the GREATEST/BEST COOK I know. I am not saying this because she’s mother, but this is also what other people say about her. She is not an educated cook, I guess she inherited the gift from my grandmother who died 13 years ago.
She used to be a Market Vendor and strived really hard to send me to a private school - from High School to College.
I know, I OWE HER A LOT.
She motivated me to study hard because according to her, education is the only thing that she can give me. She did everything to provide for my allowances and tuition fees. She even borrowed money to a lot of people (some are relatives), in order for me to finish college. She swallowed her pride, never complained, and just took in words that I cannot even imagine swallowing IF thrown at me. And now, the credits of me being a Registered Nurse, belongs to her.
I thank God that despite of everything she’s been through in life, the GREATNESS in her will always remain.
And what better gift can a daughter give to her mother on a “Mother’s Day” other than this?

MOM, You’re My #1.. Posted in Edsa last May 24-25, 2011. My way of saying thank you and branding my Mom’s greatness all over Manila. :)
The LEGACY continues..

I am not bragging that we are great people, because I believe that GREATNESS is earned. I am not even close to what my grandfather or mother had accomplished. The future for me is still yet to unfold, BUT we can start aiming for it NOW.
Small things makes GREAT PEOPLE.
A person becomes GREAT because of his EXPERIENCES, LIFE-CHANGING STORIES and the LEGACY he left that will always continue..

YEAR end report :)

January 2011 - I remember this was my first time not to celebrate New Year’s eve with my family. Worst thing was, i have a morning duty during the first day of the year. I was honestly sad and at the same time, i just told myself that i should actually get used to it. Cause i know someday I’ll go somewhere else and I’d be away from my family for so long.. it’s inevitable. I must accept it whole-heartedly.
February 2011 - All my life I never had a date during Valentine’s Day. It’s not that I envy those people who has.. ano lang, minsan gusto mong malaman ano pakiramdam ng merong ka-date sa day na yon diba? :) but nevertheless, i don’t really feel incomplete for not having a date on that day. I think the most special event in this month was February 13, wherein the Head Pastor in our church (Jesus Glorious Global Ministries) was ordained as a Reverend (Rev. Noel P. Hernandez). I never thought of that thing, like how we celebrated it. But it was one of the awesomest day in our lives as a Born Again Christian.
March 2011 - We wanted to spend summer in Subic even before the year started. We wanted to go to Ocean Adventure to watch the dolphin show. But i guess it was never bound to happen in the first place. December 2010 i told one of my cousins that if i will meet a Doc Gerry in Ocean Adventure, that means he is my soulmate. it never happened, we’re not meant to be. hahah :) On the 21st of March, we celebrated Irish’ 25th birthday in our church. Isang pagka-sarap-sarap na hapunan.. the best thing about it was we were together :)
April 2011 - What did I do during this month.. i can’t seem to remember. :)
May 2011 - Anyareeeeh sa May at wala kong maisip isulat?? hahaha :)
June 2011 - I saw an advertisement in Cebu Pacific Air website regarding a promo bound to Cebu by November. I was tempted, I almost booked myself and my mother. But for some reasons, i was declined. Then, couple of days after.. I was glad I was declined. My cousin Sophia told me she’s gonna take me with her to their grand vacation bound to Boracay, Cebu & Bohol on November. It was a dream come true. I was very happy, I can’t contain my happiness. and from this day on i told myself, if my employer won’t allow me to take a vacation leave for this vacation.. i have no choice but to resign.
July 2011 - I was literally counting the days until that very special vacation. naiinip ako. as in. hahahah :)
August 2011 - My BIRTH MONTH. I turned 25. The turning point of my life. I celebrated it at home with my family, friends and spiritual family. I was the happiest. I thank my loved-ones for making me feel special on that day. November is fast approaching and I am already looking forward to it. August 30, we celebrated Sandae’s 25th birthday at Irish’ home with lasagna, sisig, coke float, etc. (all home-made!)
September 2011 - Sophia’s birthday. She’s missed. Still looking forward to November. getting tired of what i always do at work. Routine na lang.
October 2011 - This was the turning point of my career. No one could have ever thought I was going to resign, but then I did. October 19, 2011, my supervisor told me that our employer declined to sign my Vacation Leave request. I can’t think of reasons, and I decided right away to tender my resignation. It was a spur of the moment, but still the WILL of GOD. I was so relieved when i finally made it and I DON’T REGRET doing that. I’ve thought about it for almost 5 months, and I guess.. no one has the right to question that decision. I PRAYED FOR IT, and I AM VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT.
November 2011 - Finally, the long wait is over. The effectiveness of my resignation, and much-awaited vacation. This is a very special month. Had my FIRST Airplane ride, FIRST grand vacation in BORACAY-CEBU-BOHOL. It was a great experience na hinding-hindi ko malilimutan. I never thought I’d ever have something like this. I am so priviledged, blessed and I can’t thank God enough.
December 2011 - Everyday is a special day with the Lord. This month i finally accepted God’s plan for my life. I am a TRUE MILLIONAIRE by CHOICE and by BIRTH RIGHT. andaming celebration this month.. Millionaire’s Celebration Day, Christmas Thankgiving, Church Leader’s get-together at Montalban at Prophetic Declaration :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
my DREAM VACATION! :)
Fontana Leisure Park - Clark Airbase (November 10 - 13, 2011)
Boracay Regency - Boracay (November 13 - 17, 2011)
Imperial Palace Waterpark, Resort and Spa - Lapu-Lapu City (November 17 - 21, 2011)
Chocolate Hills - Bohol (November 19, 2011)
Sofitel Philippine Plaza - Manila (November 21 - 23, 2011)
Boracay Escapade
I’ve always wanted to travel. The truth is, i want to go to different places like any normal girl. I have dream destinations in the Philippines like Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, etc. And for the international, I am dreaming of going to Paris, France and all European countries. USA and Canada has always been my favorite countries in the world. I’d love to experience other people’s culture & act like a local.
It’s just so funny that I actually am also a tourist in my own country. I’ve been in some part of Luzon like Banaue Rice Terraces, Baguio City, Tagaytay, Batangas, Subic, Clark, etc. But I’ve always wanted to ride a plane, visit my relatives in other parts of the Philippines, go on a stress-relieving vacation and all.
I thank God for the opportunity that He had given me to be here in Boracay (as of the moment I’m doing this blog), and i thank my cousin Sophia for bringing me here with her & her friends.
So here is the diary of my much-awaited vacation (that i even resigned just to make it really happen).
My first airplane ride. November 13, 2011.

In all honesty, I was really nervous but excited. A part of me was like, ‘hey, I’m gonna fly! woooohooo!’ and the other part was… ‘awww. what will happen next?’
But in everything, you gotta trust God. and in riding a plane, you gotta trust the Pilot. and that also goes in riding a boat, you gotta trust the Captain of the ship. I mean, how are you gonna enjoy and experience these things if you won’t try it? and how are you gonna say you’re a traveller if you never tried anything? Yes, i have a fear of heights. but that didn’t stop me from dreaming of having my first airplane ride. nothing beats the FIRST! :)
Once in my life, I am the Captain of the Ship (but this is a speed boat! hahaha)

how nice of the captain to let me take a picture in this spot. i loved it! and now it’s on facebook. haha :)
My companions.
My cousin, Sophia & her boyfriend, Ray. at the back was Jim & Steve. Ray is a fine & very sensible man who has lots of kwento. I love it cause he doesn’t bore me. While Jim is more quiet, but when he speak, I’m like.. oooohh! he’s cool pala! :) Steve is more serious and formal, and he’s the millionaire. They’re all well-off and they love the water. They’re used to it. They all love travelling :)
Our favorite resto in the island.
This photo was taken on our first day in the island. That sign board catched our attention, so when we were like looking for a resto to eat, we went there. Our favorite waitress was Janny, who is I think from Iloilo. She’s really very nice, always smiling and very cool. She’s always there to take our orders. The 3 boys loved her! I can proudly recommend this resto to other people who’s looking for nice foods and good service. :) They usually serve American foods, Filipino and other delicacies. Janny told us that the part owner of Nigi Nigi is a South African and it was his idea to put flags at the kisame of the bar. Kyoooot!
Boracay Regency Hotel
This is the hotel where we are staying here in Bora. It’s a 5 star hotel in front of the beach. they have nice hotel rooms, good service at the VIP lounge (only VIP guests are allowed to be there to eat & drink all you can for free!), and I think since we got there we’ve been there everyday! haha :) it’s a compliments for booking in the hotel. In this photo, you’ll see the stairs. that’s actually a tourist attraction for some people. they all love taking pictures there.
Motorcycle ride. November 14, 2011.
We went strolling around the island using this motorbike. I had fun cause these guys aren’t local, and yet they could drive with no fear in a very different place. I could have drive one myself, good thing i didn’t cause a cop asked them if they have their license with them. they actually even checked it. haha.
Puka Beach.
As we drove around the island, we went to this place, Puka Beach. they say the name came from the Puka shells, cause there’s lots of that kind of shells in that area. it’s like a deserted place, where only a few people go swimming.
Downtown of Mt. Luho.
We were like looking for Mt. Luho for how many minutes, and then we didn’t notice we already passed by it. Here we found this cheap cafe where we sat for a while and i watched people doing kite boarding, and i was like telling myself.. i wanna do that, too!

that’s the view up in the Mt. Luho.. Spectacular view out there!
Hotel View.

I just love taking pictures, that’s why this is here. this is the middle and biggest pool in the hotel where i swam twice. they have a bar in the middle, too. :)
I love Boracay.
i wrote that :) i’ve always wanted to do this, and now it’s finally here! yey! hehe.
